I wonder, if this works:

Pastor : Congregation :: Motorcycle Rider : Motorcycle Driver

I have been told that when you ride double on a motorcycle, the person on the back of the cycle needs be well aware of the surroundings and the path that the driver is taking the cycle down.

I think the same is true for the church. Both the Rider and Driver need to be headed in the same direction and not become overly distracted by the surrondings. In this analogy, it does not matter to me whether the pastor Rides with the church or whether the pastor Drives the church, but both must trust each other and work in together.
